Sotera is looking for a seasoned Senior Systems Architect for our customer in supporting our Email Platform Services team.   As the Lead System Architect, you will direct and participate in high-level enterprise architecture planning, analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and development. You will also apply high-level business and technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at creative enterprise solutions involving Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) using Microsoft Office SharePoint 2010 and 2013.

Responsibilities include: 

  • The installation and configuration of multiple 2010 and 2013 SharePoint server farms. A key attribute for success in this role will be your excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills to interact and advise across a matrixed team and use your experience as a proven team leader to direct a high-performing SharePoint team as they transition from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013.  The logical and systematic conversion of customer and product requirements into the design and implementation of total SharePoint environments that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Planning and implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) mechanisms for the SharePoint platform.
  • Performing technical planning; systems integration; verification and validation; as well as cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for a complete SharePoint solution. Analyses are performed at all system product levels to include: concept, design, installation, test, operation, and maintenance.
  • Serve as an advisor, proposing changes to the enterprise architecture based on analysis of requirements and the latest technology.
  • Conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with software vendors in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercially available software to improve the SharePoint offering.
  • Working with various parties to resolve discrepancies between proposed IT systems and enterprise quality and security standards.
  • Managing development and engineering teams, while also contributing to future engineering, both conceptually and technically and will have the opportunity to mentor other members of a close-knit SharePoint team.
  • Establishing trusted connections and shared services between farms, as well as how to monitor and manage the patching level of the farm and all servers in the farm.
  • Installing and implementing Power Pivot within a SharePoint environment.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting SharePoint search technologies and knowledge of SharePoint architecture patterns, including all service applications at scale.
  • Prioritizing multiple urgent requests under tight deadlines, consistently delivering exceptional customer service, all while providing excellent work products.



Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree + 4-7 years of experience in a Systems Architect role.
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree with at least 8 of them in a Systems Architect role
  • Proven expertise with core Microsoft Windows enterprise components: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, DFS.
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and their integration with SharePoint, as well as experience installing and implementing Power Pivot within a SharePoint environment.
  • Experience with SharePoint APIs and solution implementation best practices.
  • Experience in Windows OS, SharePoint 2010 and 2013, SQL Server, and VMware.
  • Certifications in SharePoint, SCOM or Microsoft Identity Integration Server Certification a plus.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience in NetApp storage/management.
  • Experience in VMware.
  • Experience with server patching.
  • Familarity with object-oriented programming.
